Plaster Cast Fossil

Plaster cast fossil from a clay press mould

1. Study fossils
    
2. Gather objects that can be pressed into a clay mould
    
3. Build the mould (a clay slab with four walls)
    
4. Design a fossil using a variety of different objects and materials
    
5. Press these objects into the clay
    
6. Rub a layer of vaseline onto the mould
    
7. Pour wet plaster into the mould
    
8. Wait for the plaster to set and then remove the clay
