Longford County Archives Service holds a variety of collections relating to Longford. Among the local authority collections are those of the Grand Jury, boards of guardians of Longford, Granard and Ballymahon Unions, Longford County Council, Longford Town Council and Granard Town Council. The archives of private origin include: the King-Harman Papers, the papers of Dr John F. Keenan (local historian), a small collection of Maria Edgeworth letters and items from various landed estates and local organisations.
