Michael Collins Centre

Michael Collins Centre is dedicated to the life and career of Michael Collins (1890-1922) an Irish patriot who played a leading role in the Irish War of Independence and Irish Civil War. The centre organises tours of West Cork where many important incidents in Collins' life took place such as Woodfield where he spent his boyhood and Beal Na mBlath where he was killed in an IRA ambush. Guided tours show visitors the locations in Cork of important battles during the conflict. There are historical re-enactments using period uniforms, replica military vehicles, weapons and photographs.
