Tarbert Bridewell

The Tarbet Bridewell was constructed in 1831 and for more than a century was a courthouse and jail. Legal proceeding were held in the courthouse while prisoners were held in the cells and yards before being transported to the County Jail located in Tralee town. There is also an exhibition focusing on the biography and works of the poet Thomas McGreevy (1893-1967) who was a Kerry native.
