Cork Public Museum contains exhibits relating to the history and archaeology of Cork City and County. A notable exhibit is the oldest pick and shovel discovered in a Bronze Age copper mine and  a bronze age horned helmet. The Garryduff Gold Bird shows the advances of medieval craftmanship. Traditional Cork silverware is displayed prominently with some pieces dating from the 18th century.
