Roscommon County Museum

A former Presbyterian church built in the 1860s is the current home of the Roscommon County Museum. Among the exhibits include a 9th century slab from St. Coman's foundation, a replica of the Cross of Cong, and a 'Sheel na Gig' from Rahara. The front of the building has a distinctive 'Star Of David' decoration. In the rear yard are examples of horse drawn farm machinery. The facility is run by County Roscommon Historical and Archaeological Society and is also home to the Roscommon Tourist Information Office. It is open throughout the summer.
