Greater Blanchardstown Development Project

The Greater Blanchardstown Development Project, situated in Parslickstown House is a Resource Centre which provides facilities, information, training and support to groups and individuals with the overall aim of being a catalyst for community development in the Mulhuddart area.

FAS, Fingal County Council and Northern Area Health Authority work in close co-operation with the project in many of the activities organised in Parslickstown House.

A Community Employment Project has been running for the past ten years, and workers have been involved in services such as catering, crèche, security, secretarial and house maintenance whilst gaining skills and re-training in other areas such as computer literacy, driving first aid and job seeking skills.

The project has developed a broad programme of activities including

  • The establishment of a major resource centre at Parslickstown House, Mulhuddart to service groups and individuals throughout the area.
  • Courses that meet the needs of the community, such as creative activities, personal development etc.
  • Accommodation for local group activities
  • Administration backup for local groups
  • Support for local community groups from our community development worker
