Waterford Soldier Wounded at the Dardanelles

WATERFORD SOLDIER WOUNDED AT THE DARDANELLES.

Mr. James Hannigan, of Spring Garden Alley, Waterford, has just received from the Defence Department of the Australian Commonwealth a letter stating that his son Nicholas Hannigan of the 1st Battalion of the Australian Imperial Forces was wounded in action at the Dardanelles.
Nicholas Hannigan left Maidstone, Kent, about three years ago for Australia. and he returned to Europe with the Expeditionary Force which was ordered to the Dardenelles.  A younger brother of his, Matthew, is invalided from the Western front, and a still younger brother (Patrick) was killed at Ypres on November 3rd.
Mr. James Hannigan has indeed had his full share of trouble for the past six months.  His eldest daughter, a nun at Chiiagong, died on March 19th.
