Favourite Recipes
In recent years there has been a huge revival of interest in how our food is produced and how it is prepared. The rise in popularity of reality cooking shows, celebrity chefs, cookery journalism, books and courses has many of us rushing back into the kitchen to put our new culinary knowledge to the test. The result has been a burst of creativity and adding new twists to old recipes has become standard kitchen procedure!
To celebrate Ireland's growing food heritage as part of the Europeana Food and Drink Project, the public libraries encouraged their members to share their favourite recipe and the story behind it.
This was met with great enthusiasm and a selection of recipes are available here for you to enjoy!
