List of Casualties at the Battle of Aughrim
This list is taken from George Story's "An Impartial History of the Wars in Ireland". Story was a chaplain with the Williamite army and recorded events as they took place. It lists some of the officers, soldiers and horses killed and wounded at the Battle of Aughrim in 1691.

Part of 1602 map of south Donegal
A map of the southern coastal area of Tyrconnell (Donegal) including Teelin Head and Donegal Bay. This map was drawn up in 1602 for Lord Mountjoy, Earl of Devonshire, who owned large tracts of land in Ulster prior to the great plantation scheme of 1609. The map outlines the territories of the Donegal chieftains, O'Donnell, Mac Swine (Sweeney), and O'Boyle. The castles of these clans are indicated; these sites were to become important strongholds in the chieftains' struggles against the forfeiture of their lands.

Bicentenary Booklet of 1798 - St Mullins Co. Carlow
A Souvenir booklet published by a local committee in St. Mullins, Co. Carlow to highlight and mark the Bicentenary of the 1798 Rising. While dealing with the background to the Rising it also relates the Story of '98 in the locality and vicinity of St Mullins in South County Carlow. It surveys a number of significant local personalities linking them to important places and events in the general historical context. Memories of other milestone Commemoration Ceremonies are also discussed and recalled.

Execution of Sir Edward Crosbie
Letters from an officer based in Carlow regarding the hangings in the aftermath of the 1798 Rising in Carlow including mention of Sir Edward Crosbie in custody and trial likely. Also there is a reference to the surrender of arms and pikes. It reads: Extract of a letter from an officer in Carlow, dated Thursday last. ?A court-martial has been sitting here these two days; numbers have been hanged and shot among them are many yeomen, Sir Edward Crosbie is said to be deeply implicated; he is now in custody, but not yet tried.? Another letter from the same, dated yesterday, ?Executions still going on ? both shooting and hanging; and in consequence of the measures adopted, we have a daily and numerous surrender of pikes and other arms taking place.?

Book on trial of Sir Edward Crosbie
Sir Edward Crosbie was executed in the aftermath of the 1798 Battle of Carlow. He was sent to his death in a case of mistaken identity. Some years after his trial and execution, his family published this book in his honour in the year 1802. Its title "An Accurate and Impartial narrative of the Apprehension Trial and Execution on the 5th of June 1798 of Sir Edward William Crosbie, Bart.

Monument to Fr. John Murphy, Tullow
Statue of Fr. John Murphy who was executed in Tullow in July 1798, for his part in the Insurrection of that year. The Statue is situated in the Square in Tullow and was designed by Mr. Walsh of Carlow. The pedestal is of limestone and the statue itself of sicilian marble. It was unveiled in August, 1905.

Head of Sir Cahir O Dochartaigh at Newgate
Woodcut depicting the impaled heads of Sir Cahir O Dochartaigh and his foster father, Felim Riabhach Mac Dhaibheid, at Newgate prison, Dublin. From the title page of a contemporary pamphlet, "Overthrow of an Irish Rebel in a late battle". London. I Wright, 1608. After his death in battle, 1608, O Dochartaigh's corpse was decapitated at Doon Rock, Kilmacrenan, the inaugural site of the O'Donnells. His head was transported to Dublin and impaled upon a pike.

Inscription to the 640 United Irishmen who fell at the Battle of Carlow on 25th May 1798. It was unveiled in the month of July 1898 on the occasion of the Centenary Commemoration.

Plaque on the Liberty Tree bronze sculpture Potato Market, Carlow. This sculpture was unveiled on June 13th 1998 by Cllr. Rody Kelly, Cathaoirleach, Carlow Urban District Council. It commemorates the 1798 Rebellion in Carlow.

Sir Henry Dowcra landing at London/Derry 1600
Stained glass window from the Guildhall, London/Derry. Sir Henry Dowcra is shown stepping ashore from a small boat, having been rowed across from the large ship in the background. He is being greeted by an official, who is assisting him onto the shore. Dowcra, who became Governor of the city, was an English military commander who played a large part in the planning and development of London/Derry during the Ulster Plantation. He also was granted 2,000 acres of lands around Lifford, County Donegal.
