In this unit children will have learned about an important historical figure that belonged to their place. They will also have looked at what life was like for them, what was different and what made them important in history. The description of the person should be objective and non- judgemental. The children will have been asked to use the evidence to make evaluations.

Sources Included:

(1) Written accounts, autobiographies, biographies (if possible quote extracts so that children can examine the attitude of the author towards the subject, or two different views)

(2) Photographs of the subject, showing different phases of his/her life, homes, objects etc. associated with the person

(4) Photographs of locations associated with the person such as home, place of birth, residence, locality

(5) Documents relating to, or created by the person, such as letters, legal documents, deeds etc.
