Athy Library Book Clubs

Athy Library currently runs two adult book clubs.They both meet once a month on the last Saturday & first Wednesday. The Library offers the use of Book Club books to other Book Clubs that meet at other venues & books are also supplied to Children’s Book Clubs. New members are always welcome.

Ballitore Library Book Clubs

The Book Worms Book Club meets at Ballitore Community Library every four to six weeks, depending on demand from it’s members. Meetings take place on Wednesday mornings from 11.00am.-12.30pm they are very relaxed & informal.Membership of the Club is open to all adult members of the library.

Celbridge Library Book Clubs

Celbridge Community Library facilitates 6 adult book clubs.
Random Readers : meet the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 8pm.
Red or White: meet every 4th Wednesday of every month at 8pm.
The Pageturners: meet the 1st Friday of every month at 11am.
The Bookworms: meet on the 3rd Friday of every month at 11am.
The North Kildare Educate Together School: parents Book Club collect their books at the start of every month.
The Dream Book Club: from St. Raphaels meet every forthnight on Thursday mornings at 11am in the Library.
Celbridge Childrens’ Book Club meets monthly after school during term time. 10 – 12 year olds.

Kildare Library Book Clubs
Kildare Community Library Book Club meets on the first Tuesday of the month from 7pm to 8pm.

Leixlip Library Book Clubs
Leixlip Library hosts 3 Book Clubs:

The Tuesday Clubs meets between 7pm and 8pm
The Wednesday Club meets between 11am and12 noon.
The last Tuesday of the month Club known as The Book Club for Armchair Detectives held its inaugural meeting on the 27th May.

The Book Clubs take a break during the months of July and August. Contact the library for details.

Maynooth Library Book Clubs
Maynooth Community Library hosts two adult Book Clubs, the original Club which meets once a month on Monday night, from 8pm to 10pm. The second Club, called the U3A Book Club meet on the last Wednesday of each month. Both Clubs run from September to June Inclusive.

Maynooth Library also facilitates a group of French speaking toddlers and their parents for Petit Alliance Francaise. They read French Language story books, sing and converse in their first language.

Naas Library Book Clubs
Naas Community Library hosts three adult Book Clubs.They were established in March 2004.

The 1st club meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7-8p.m
The 2nd club meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 11am-12pm.
The 3rd club meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7-8pm.

Newbridge Library Book Clubs

Newbridge Community Library hosts two adult Book Club and two children’s Book Clubs.

The adult club was established in 2004 and meets on the second Tuesday of the month from 7pm. to 8pm.
The second bookclub meets on the last Wednesday of the month from 10.30 a.m to 11.30 a.m.
The recently established children’s clubs meet on the third and fourth Wednesdays of each month from 3.30 to 4pm.

All clubs are facilitated by a member of staff. Newbridge library also supplies books to book clubs in local primary schools as part of an outreach service. For further information contact Newbridge Library.

Rathangan Library Book Clubs


Rathangan Library hosts two Book Clubs.

“The Elder Lemons” who meet on the 1st Thursday of the month.
“The Young Ones”, meet at a different venue every month.
