© Dublin City Public LibrariesDublin was a very different place at the turn of the last century to what it is today. In the image you can see the Dublin trams and horse draw carts which would not be seen today. Also, in place of the spike you have Nelson's column. This was destroyed in the 1950s. However, despite this, Dublin's streets are still largely recognisable from this time and the shops and buildings remain. In the coming years, Dublin City Council has plans to renew this street and return it pedestrians, as in this pictures.
