Eddie Macken from Granard, County Longford is considered to be one of the greatest showjumpers in the world. As a young boy, he successfully competed in local shows with the horse 'Granard Boy'.

Eddie's talents has won him many championships in Europe, Canada and U.S.A. On 'Bommerang', Eddie set an unprecedented record by winning the Hickstead Derby in England in 1976, 1977, 1978 and 1979. He featured on the I.T.V. programme, This is Your Life, and received due recognition for his talents.
