Baked Apples

I love Mellon, my husband does not. I said, after he praised me for this dessert of which he ate every morsel, guess what this Apple is stuffed with? He did not know. He now sees Mellon in a different light! He like this recipe as it very healthy and minimal sugar and has option to be gluten free.
Baked apples of melon, passion fruit and walnuts/pecans
Ingredients
3 cooking apples ( allow 1 apple per person increase for bigger number )
1/4 Melon ( yellow) chopped
1 tablespoon golden syrup
1 passion fruit
9 pecan or walnuts
3 slices of bread ( optional ) can have gluten free and have no bread
Butter to spread on both sides of bread
Instructions
- Heat oven to 180 degrees C.
- Butter slices of bread on both sides and place in flat pie dish.
- Wash apples and core out the centres.
- Stuff apples with chopped melon.
- Scoop out passion fruit and put on top of each stuffed apple.
- Put drizzle of golden syrup on top of the passion fruit.
- Place 3 pecans or walnuts on top of each apple.
- Score the skin of each apple with a knife.
- Bake for 15 - 20 minutes.
- Serve with ice cream or cream - delicious !
