The tenants welcomed him greatly as he was known as a kind man. During the famine, he gave great assistance and provided much needed work.
Bianconi's son Charles married Daniel O'Connell's granddaughter in 1859 and his daughter Mary Anne (Minnie) married O'Connell's nephew Morgan John O'Connell in 1865. In 1853 Bianconi returned to Ireland for business reasons, with his family remaining in Italy for a while longer.

Bianconi was the owner of substantial land and property and was a wealthy man.The following year in 1867, Charles then aged 78 had a serious riding accident. On the 22nd September 1875 Charles Bianconi died following a stroke in Longfield House. He was buried in the Bianconi Mortuary Chapel in Boherlahan.
