Litter and Waste

Waste is what we make when we have more than we can use.

• We cannot eat the box the strawberries were in so it becomes waste.
• We don't want to wear our shoes if we get a hole in them so they become waste when we get new ones.
• If we don't eat the food on our plate it becomes waste.

There is a place to put waste so that it doesn't harm the environment.  If we don't put our waste in the right place - if we just carelessly throw it away - it becomes litter.

Litter is waste in the wrong place!
