A river is a natural flow of water towards a lake, another bigger river, an ocean or a sea. Rivers form part of the hydrological cycle, which you can learn more about in the Green Team section.
Rivers are full of life. They are habitats for many different types of fish, algae and mosses. Human settlements have traditionally been established along riversides as well.
Can you think why?
Well, a river is a great source of freshwater and food. It can also be used for transport, irrigating the land, and recreation.
