© The Century Association, New YorkFrank O'Meara is quite a tragic figure in Irish art history. However, although his career was cut short by his young death, Frank's influence on Irish art continues to grow and grow.
He was unknown by most people until the 1980s. Then, at an auction in London in 1999, one of his paintings Reverie sold to a rich English collector for a whopping £496,500!
From then on, his name was established in the Irish hall of fame and his paintings are now receiving lots of attention from collectors and experts.
