Fashions have changed because people's lifestyles have changed, and also because television and magazines influence the way people dress.
Today there is more of a variety of clothing to choose from. There is also a greater range of fabrics available for making clothes.
Let's look at clothing in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s to see how styles have changed. Later we will see how new types of cloth were developed which influenced the variety and the look of the clothes that were worn.
