Ryan's Daughter
The well-known film Ryan's Daughter was made in Dingle in 1969. The school in the photograph is not a real school. It was built especially for the film, which was set in 1916. It is a very realistic representation of what a school would have looked like in that year.
The schoolchildren here are dressed as schoolchildren would have dressed in 1916.
Often, schools had only one teacher, who was responsible for teaching all subjects and age groups.
