We learn history in school and are often told stories by our parents and grandparents. But do we ever really consider the past? Are we aware that there are layers of ancient pathways criss-crossing underneath the roads we travel every day?
In this section, we will take a closer look at one of the oldest known roadways in Ireland: the 'Rian Bó Phádruig', also known as the 'Ancient Highway of the Decies'. Although it is about 1,500 years old, we can still trace it and walk on parts of it today.
