Through completing the unit Transport in Leixlip the child should become aware of forms of transport and transport routes in the locality of Leixlip. It will also provide an example of how the theme of transport might be explored at local level in any school.

Children will develop familiarity with aerial photographs, maps and pictures and will gain an understanding that these can be of a variety of scales. Children will develop a sense of aerial perspective and will begin to develop an understanding of map symbols and keys.
