In this section we are using the Ordnance Survey Ireland Discovery Series map number 56 which covers parts of Wicklow, Dublin and Kildare.
The Discovery Series maps cover the whole country at a scale of 1 : 50,000. Each centimetre on the map represents 500m or half a kilometre on the ground.
This gives us a lot of detail over a relatively small area.
We are going to look at the area around Knocknacloghoge Mountain in the Wicklow mountains.
