An míol críon
An míol críon
Is é Oniscus asellus an míol críon is coitianta a faightear i ngairdíní uirbeacha, go mór mór faoi lomáin agus i gcairn mhúirín. Bíonn siad suas le 15mm ar fad. Téann siad i bhfolach faoi chlocha agus faoi potaí bláthanna i rith an lae (toisc go dtriomaítear go réidh iad), agus tagann siad amach nuair a éiríonn sé dorcha chun fásra marbh a ithe.
Woodlouse
Oniscus asellus, up to 15mm long, is the woodlouse most commonly found in urban gardens, especially under logs and in compost heaps. Woodlice hide under stones and flowerpots during the day (as they dry out easily), emerging after dark to eat dead vegetation.
