Full-time Information Specialist, August to mid December 2014

Research service to provide information specialist skills to assist with the completion of three evidence reviews and assist with other routine work.

Detailed description
The information specialist will assist with the completion of three evidence reviews which include:
 
1. Support an evidence review on fluoridation which will collate the known health effect of water fluoridation at 0.6 to 0.8 part per million on the health of populations. This will require 60 days or 3 days per week assistance between 5 August 2014 and 18 December 2014; a. The information specialist will search the grey literature, process inter library loans, assist in preparing a data extraction form, assist in the completion of data extraction from 60 papers, follow up to find additional references identified during the extraction and synthesis process, write the methods section, prepare the endnote file and prepare the references as well as reading and commenting on drafts of the report.
 
2. Support suicide and hospital reviews which will require 22 days assistance or 2 days per week assistance between 5 August 2014 and 18 December 2014; a. The information specialist will help to develop search strategies, search literature, process inter library loans, manage documentation, screen abstracts, follow up to find additional references following synthesis, prepare the endnote files and prepare the references.
 
3. Support other activities such as quarterly research newsletter and ad-hoc research requests from stakeholders. This will require 4 days during the same period. a. The information specialist will help complete the searches for quarter 3 and quarter 4 issues of a research newsletter and complete ad-hoc search requests for stakeholders.
