The Exhibition
The Ground Floor houses Reception, the Giftshop and Craftworkers, the Restaurant and the Tourist Office.
A dramatic atrium has been created from floor to ceiling of the Granary and via a glass-walled elevator the visitor goes to the top two floors to the exhibition.
The exhibition traces the fortunes of Waterford from foundation by the Vikings in 914 A.D. through Norman and Medieval times.
The interactive displays provide a balance to the text and displays and are especially popular with children.
The story continues through later Medieval and Early Modern times right up to the present day.
