Caherconnell Stone Fort
All rights reservedCaherconnell is a cultural and historical treasure trove nestled in one of the Burren's most picturesque valleys. Your visit to the exceptionally well preserved fort incorporates an audio-visual presentation, a graphic display area, a virtual reality tour and an audio tour of the fort. The audiovisual presentation deals with the unique history of the Burrens tombs and monuments dating back over 5,000 years including Poulnabrone Dolmen. Irelands first stone fort virtual tour is an unprecedented re-creation of life, customs and design of the fort. As you walk around the fort its secrets are beautifully relayed by an audio or scripted presentation designed by Paul Gosling M.I.A.I.
The brand new Sheepdog Demonstration at Caherconnell is a unique opportunity to witness the combined skill of the Border Collie and the farmer as well as a selection of rare sheep breeds. This demonstration is provided by local farmers who will display techniques which have been passed from father to son and which still remain alive and well in the Burren today.
