The Biddy Early Brewery

The Biddy Early Brewery was opened in 1995 and showcases the traditional Irish art of brewing beer. A variety of beers are produced using natural ingredients. Local small scale brewers were once common place in Ireland before large scale manufacturers such as Guinness replaced them. The visitors centre explains the association between brewing and the 19th century figure, Biddly Early, a healer famous in local folklore who was at one time accused of witchcraft.  Visitors can experience an audio-visual presentation and take a tour of the brewing facilities accompanied by beer tasting.
