Isacc Butt Heritage Centre
The Isaac Butt Heritage Centre opened in 1998 and is focused on the life and political career of Irish national parliamentarian Isaac Butt (1813-1879). Butt was the leader of the Irish MPs in the British Commons and campaigned for Irish Home Rule laying the foundations for Charles Stuart Parnell and the Irish Parliamentary Party. He was born in Glenfin and other exhibitions also detail the local history and heritage. Most notable is the history of schooling which dates back to early Christian times.
