Edmund Rice Centre
Blessed Edmund Rice (1762-1844) was the founder of the Christian Brothers and Presentation Brothers, two Roman Catholic religious orders who played a major role in Irish education. The Edmund Rice Centre is dedicated to his memory. The centre is also the home of the Allen library which contains material mainly related to the period of 1916-22. There are photographs and papers relating to the executed 1916 Easter Rising leaders.
