All rights reservedThis award winning centre is situated 5 miles from Clifden. It offers a unique insight into the history and heritage of Clifden and surrounds. A Multi-lingual audiovisual introduces the history of the area and tells the story of Dan O’Hara. Dan’s cottage and farm has been restored and his story illustrates life in Connemara before the famine. Visitors can also step back in time a visit a Crannog, Ringfort & Clochaun. Guided tours of the centre are available by prior appointment and are entertaining and educational with demonstrations of Turf Cutting, Shearing, Thatching and other activities available. Other facilities include a Restaurant and Craft Shop.
