St. Patrick's Festival
The St. Patrick's Festival is held for five days based around St. Patrick's Day, the 17th of March, commeorating the patron saint of Ireland St. Patrick. The occasion is celebrated in Dublin, nationwide and internationally wherever Irish communities exist. The Dublin programme involves Irish street theate and pageants. It is used as an opportunity to involve young people and community groups to invent their own art and theatre for inclusion in the main event which is the St. Patrick's Day parade through Dublin city centre.
