The Hunt Museum
Situated in the centre of Limerick, the Hunt Museum contains a wide variety of antiquities and art works which were accumulated by John and Gertrude Hunt. There are pieces from ancient Greece, Rome, Egypt and the Olmec civilisation of pre-Columbus Mexico.
The Irish collection includes Irish stone age, bronze age and christian artifacts. There are stone and wood Middle Ages statues, painted panel, jewellery, enamels, ivory, ceramics, crystal and crucifixes.
Silver, glass and ceramics are featured from the 18th and 19th century. Artists featured such as Pablo Picasso, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Roderic O'Connor, Jack B. Yeats and Henry Moore.
