Drumreilly
Drumreilly Drum-Airbhelaigh, "Ridge of the Eastern road or pass"
What is now the Drumreilly Upper parish was originally part of a larger parish, which consisted of Drumreilly Upper and Drumreilly Lower the name of which was Drumreilly or to give it the old name Drumreally. The division was not accomplished originally by the ecclesiastical authorities but came about as a means to settle a dispute between two brothers of the Percy family, who resided at Carrickmakeegan.
Situated along the southeastern border of the Co Leitrim it is bounded on the north by Drumreilly Lower, south by Aughavas, west by Fenagh and east by Carrigallen. The parish of Drumreilly Lower is bounded on the north and east by the County Cavan border, south by Garadice Lake and west by the Ballinamore parish and Sliabh an Iarainn.
