An ESTIMATE for making the River Barrow navigable at all times for Boats that shall carry not less than fifteen Tons in the driest Seasons, from the Tide Water at St. Mullins in the County of Carlow, to the Bridge of Athy in the County of Kildare, being an Extent of nearly thirty-five Miles..
To make compleat and permanent all the Works hitherto executed from St Mullins to Graigenemanagh, Cloghasty, Aughnagasha, &c. upwards to Athy £9,800
Graiguenamanagh Bridge
Graiguenamanagh Bridge was built circa 1765 to a design attributed to George Semple. It links Tinnehinch on the County Carlow side of the river Barrow with the village of Graiguenamanagh in County Kilkenny. The spandrels between the arches are decorated in the palladian style. There was a timber bridge here before this current stone bridge.
