Newspaper files held by Carlow County Library listed in chronological order. The holdings of the Carlow Sentinel continue until 20th October 1920. Its full name was Carlow Sentinel and Leinster Agricultural Commercial and Literary Advertiser. For the remainder of this period, the Carlow Nationalist and Leinster Times was the only Carlow newspaper in existence.
The Carlow Sentinel
The Carlow Sentinel was first published by Henry Malcomson in Tullow Street, it later moved to Dublin Street and afterwards to Court Place where it was owned by T.H. Carroll. Its last proprietor was George Langran. It was unionist and conservative in bias.
