Carlow County LibraryThe first issue of The Carlow Nationalist and Leinster Times was published initially in Brown Street .The newspaper later moved to 58 Dublin Street and from there to Tullow Street. It was founded by Patrick J. Conlan and his brother, John. Following Patrick Conlon's death in 1898, his widow Annie F. Conlan retained ownership of the newspaper.John Conlon continued as editor until 1904.Carlow County Library holds the Carlow Vindicator for 1892. The Vindicator operated from Dublin Street and was in existence for about five years. During the Parnellite "split" in the 1890s the Carlow Vindicator was on the side of Parnell's party while the Nationalist and Leinster Times supported the anti-Parnellite cause. The Library holds an unbroken run of the "Nationalist" from its earliest edition to the present day.
