The Catherine Street garage was taken over by Waterford business man John Kelly who formed John Kelly (Waterford) Ltd. This business continued up until 1999, at which time it was relocated to the Cork Road. John Kelly's great-grandson David McCarthy managed the business for many years.

The Catherine Street premises were bought by Martin Barrett in 1999, trading as Martin Barrett Ltd.
