© David McCarthy – gave permission to use.In 1902 W.F. Peare took up the sale of Gladiator cars, with the first machine supplied to a Mr P.W. Kiely, Esq. of Newtown, Waterford City. In the years that followed he was the agent for various car manufacturers including Daimler, Oldsmobile, Vulcan, Napier, Buick, Cadillac and Stanley Steam Cars.
During the First World War, W.F. Peare joined the army, attaining the rank of captain. His absence from the garage during the war coupled with the war time petrol rationing caused the company to go into liquidation in 1917.
