© INPHOJohn Treacy, was born on the 4th June 1957 in the picturesque village of Villierstown in West Waterford where his parents Jack and Gertie operated the local village post office.
John, his brother Ray and twin sister Liz were all great athletes each achieving success.
But it was John who went on to achieve the remarkable feat of two World Cross-County titles as well as an Olympic Marathon silver medal making him Waterford's most successful athlete.
