The bee orchid, looks very much like a queen bee. The sepals are usually pale pink, but sometimes white, and each has a green central stripe.

John Brown, Randlestown estate
This is a photograph of John Brown. He was a stockman at Randlestown during the last years of tobacco production. He started work in 1927. He remembered when nearly every farm within a five mile radius of the estate had a tobacco shed. He also remembered John Nevin, the man in charge of tobacco production on the estate: “tobacco growing was nearly a religion with him, he’d talk to you about nothing else.”

Tobacco Grower's Diary
These are diary entries for the years 1934 and 1935 relating to tobacco growing. John Mangan recorded the varieties of plants he grew, the numbers of plants, details of planting, cultivation, harvesting and yield. Names of other local growers, to whom he sold plants, are also recorded.

Tobacco Growers Ledger
The ledger is a hand written document. It lists the names and addresses of growers for the 1936, 1937 and 1938 seasons and the sums of money they received in advance of the new season tobacco crop. The addresses give an indication of the geographical spread of growers.
