Mr. Seamus Mc Cabe was listed in first place, a place he truly deserved for his achievement in winning the All-Ireland Senior Softball championship, the first Ulsterman ever to do so.

This a section of Monaghan's local newspaper 'The Northern Standard' entitled 'Orielman's Sports Commentary'. this article appeared on the 23rd September 1966 offering 'heartiest congratulations on a most wonderful achievement to Seamus Mc Cabe (Clones) on taking the All Ireland senior softball singles championship title at Ballymote, Co. Sligo'. The big six-footer and left hander, is the first ever handballer to take an All Ireland senior title to Ulster.
