Sepia-coloured pre-1925 postcard of Barnes Gap, Creeslough, Co Donegal. This picture was taken before the disastrous collapse of the Owencarrow railway viaduct, pictured in the left foreground. This incident was caused by high winds on the night of January 30th1925, when a train passing across the viaduct was blown over the side, taking most of the substructure with it, and causing many fatalities.The centre foreground shows the main Letterkenny-Creeslough road.
