Side view of the single storey Old Station house at Borris, County Carlow. The railway line for which it was built - from Bagenalstown to Ballyellin no longer exists. The house is built of granite and slated with two tall chimney's and drip mould detail around the door and windows.

Text of the Oath taken by a Trustee of the Turnpike Road from Dublin to Carlow via Blessington and Baltinglass. It was in accordance with an Act passed in the tenth year of the Reign of George IV. It was sworn by all members of the Board of Trustees of the aforementioned Turnpike Road, in the year 1843.

Examples of Resolutions and Orders of the Trustees of the Turnpike Road from Dublin to Carlow via Blessington and Baltinglass in the year 1843 in the Reign of George IV. They stated that all relevant advertisements relating to the toll road should be inserted in the "General Advertiser". It also referred to the payment of tolls of gate-keepers or tenants. It also stated that no resolution should be put to vote unless it is in writing.

Notice from William Elliot, Solicitor regarding the making and maintenance of a Turnpike road from Knockroe to Goresbridge and a branch line from Rathanagh to Bagenalstown. It was written and signed on November 7th 1836. It contains a detailed listing of all the townlands through which the road and branch line would pass.

Plaque on bridge at Graiguenamanagh
Plaque on Graiguenamanagh Bridge erected by Graiguenamanagh Historical Society in 1998. The bridge links the Carlow village of Tinnehinch with Graiguenamanagh in County Kilkenny. The plaque commemorates an incident from the 1798 Rising.

Plaque on bridge at Leighlinbridge
This plaque on the bridge over the River Barrow at Leighlinbridge, County Carlow refers to the fact that the first stone bridge was built there c1319 by Maurice Jakis who was Canon of Kildare Cathedral. The bridge was here stated to have been widened in 1768 and a cantilever path attached as recently as 1976.
