Templeogue Mill
Templeogue Mill
Templeogue Mill was demolished in 1985 to make way for the new Tallaght by-pass. A mill is mentioned here as far back as 1394 when William, heir to Robert Meones quit claim to all his right to a watermill on the Doder in Taghmeloge. A mill is also shown at this location on the Down Survey map of 1647. The mill was operated by the Burkes early in the 19th century but was subsequently burnt down and later rebuilt. It passed into the hands of J.C. Colville and then in 1879, to William McConchy & Co.
