Fish are cold-blooded animals that live in water. Most fish have slimy skin that is covered in tiny scales. Fish come in all sorts of colours and shapes.
For example, the porcupine fish can swallow lots of water to make it look like a big spiky balloon! This scares away other fish that might try to eat it.
Did you ever wonder how fish can breathe under water? They have speical organs called ‘gills’. They take the oxygen straight out of the water. This allows fish to breathe underwater.
