A barnacle is like a crab except that it does not walk sideways as the crab, Instead, the barnacle lies on its back and grabs food with its legs as it goes along.
A barnacle’s shell is made up of eight parts. Two of these parts are movable in order to protect the barnacle when it is not looking for food.
