Bones are hard and strong but even so they can be broken.

If you think you have broken a bone the doctor will take an X-ray.
This is like taking a photo of the inside of your body. The broken bone will then be wrapped in a hard cast. The cast holds the broken ends together until they mend. It takes about six weeks for the break to heal.
