A selection of textbooks from the 18th to 20th centuries are shown. Children are encouraged to notice some of the main differences between very early textbooks and modern textbooks. Specific attention is paid to geography, history, Gaeilge and Arithmetic. Children are shown examples of the Irish script that was used in schools in the first part of the 20th century. They are asked to do a number of tasks such as arithmetic and a deciphering of a Gaeilge text.
